Kamana Sewa Bikas Bank Limited under its Corporate Social Responsibility program has constructed a service booth for the shoe menders and handed over on the collaboration with Kathmandu Metropolitan City Ward no. 3 at Ranibarichowk, Kathmandu.
The booth was inaugurated by Ms. Sita Thapa, ward member of Ward No. 3 of Kathmandu Metropolitan City. Speaking at the opening and handing over program, the ward member Thapa expressed his gratitude for the support given by the bank to organize the people who polish and repair shoes in a disorganized manner. The said booth was handed over to Mr. Upendra Das, a shoe mender located in Ranibari. The program was attended by local social workers and other dignitaries.
The purpose of the bank's CSR program is
to provide shoe menders with an organized place to help them earn their
livelihood.
