Kamana Sewa Bikas Bank Limited has distributed 25 white canes to visually impaired individuals from economically disadvantaged and socially marginalized communities as a part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
The distribution program was organized with the objective of supporting the independent, safe, and dignified mobility of visually impaired individuals. During the event, Mr. Sushil Poudel, Head of Branding and CSR at Kamana Sewa Bikas Bank, handed over the white canes to the visually impaired individuals. The program was also attended by Mr. Khumnath Bhusal, Compliance Head of the Bank.
Speaking on the program, Mr. Poudel highlighted that a white cane is not merely a mobility aid for visually impaired individuals but also a vital tool that promotes independence, safety, and self-confidence. He expressed the Bank’s belief that such support can significantly improve the daily lives of visually impaired people, particularly those from underprivileged communities, and enable their active participation in society. Similarly, Mr. Saugat Wagley of the Sarwodaya Project stated that the initiative aims to enhance the quality of life of visually impaired individuals by promoting social inclusion and encouraging independent living.
During the program, Mr. Poudel also reiterated the Bank’s commitment to encouraging visually impaired individuals to adopt self-reliant and accessible banking practices. The Bank believes that such initiatives contribute positively to building confidence and fostering greater social inclusion among differently-abled individuals.
