On the occasion of Global Money Week 2026, Kamana Sewa Bikas Bank successfully conducted a series of financial literacy programs. Global Money Week is celebrated annually in March under the coordination of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). This year, the week-long event commenced on March 17 and concluded on March 23, 2026.
Marking the occasion, the Bank organized impactful classroom sessions across the country with the objective of enhancing financial literacy at the school level and equipping students with essential financial knowledge and skills. In addition, the Bank disseminated various awareness materials through social media platforms.
The Bank conducted financial literacy programs in schools across all seven provinces, directly benefiting more than 1,000 students. The sessions covered key topics such as the importance of savings, capital formation through small savings, personal budgeting, expense management, and the opportunities and challenges of digital transactions.
Furthermore, in response to the increasing incidents of digital fraud, the Bank launched a special awareness campaign focused on One-Time Password (OTP) security. As part of this initiative, multilingual awareness videos were shared in social media, effectively delivering financial safety messages to diverse communities.
The Bank also utilized its social media channels to promote the habit of saving for a secure future, highlighting topics such as savings and investment, budget adjustment, emergency funds for unforeseen circumstances, common mistakes in digital transactions, and ways to protect against online fraud.
In addition, the Bank organized awareness rallies in various locations, incorporating financial literacy messages as part of the celebrations. Through these comprehensive efforts: both on-ground and online-the Bank successfully marked Global Money Week 2026 by spreading awareness and strengthening financial literacy across communities.
